March 1, 1983, the first 12 Swatch models made their debut; 51 parts, under 50 Swiss francs - the watch that changed the world was born. No one knew it would turn into one of the biggest know brand names in the world, recognized everywhere for creating colorful exciting watches in line with the latest trends.
After three decades Swatch has every reason to celebrate its 30th birthday; those first 12 watches from 1983 have been followed by millions. In 2006, Swatch celebrated the production of the 333 millionth Swatch watch. In celebration a special New Gent watch has been created, SWATCH Est. 1983 with every year from 1983 to 2013 printed on the dial.
