Held this year at the Tokyo
Big Sight
Exhibition Center from 27-29 August, the Japan Jewellery Fair has been as big a success as
expected, with a wide range of brands, exhibitors and seminars/events taking
place over the course of the show to overall positive reviews.
Events/Seminars
Starting on the 27th and continuing throughout the Fair, the
events and seminars that took place over the 3 days included:
-Developing Business
in Hong Kong and Chinese Jewellery Markets Mr Chan

Increasing Online Shopping and Retail Shop Sales Mr Shintaro

Practical seminars also took place, including training on types of stone
settings and acquiring the skills of a jewellery professional including looking
at surface textures of different gemstones.
Exhibitors
A wide range of exhibitors in a diverse selection of areas gave visitors
a real opportunity to make the most of the collections on offer. The categories
including Bridal Jewellery, Pearls (in the Pearl Pavillion), New Collections,
Minerals and Gem Dealers.
Prominent exhibitors included:
-Meli Gioielli Firenze Italian designer Meli Gioielli showcased
their jewellery range including gold, silver, diamond and fashion jewellery.
-Blue Ribbon New this year,
Blue Ribbon are based in Japan
and sell a wide range of diamond and gold jewellery, as well as gems including
sapphires and Akoya pearls.
-Enchanted Designs
Ltd Based in Canada ,
Enchanted Designs specialise in gold and silver jewellery and also deal in
semi-precious stones and Ammolite gemstones.
Buyer
Appointment System
New this year was the introduction of the Buyer Appointment System, to
help visitors find new suppliers in a targeted and efficient manner. Managed
through the JJF website, this saved time and allowed for exhibitors and buyers
alike to manage their appointments effectively.
Shows
& Awards
A wide range of shows and awards took place over the 3 days, including
the prestigious JJA Jewellery Design Award 2013 and the Christmas Jewellery
Fashion Show 2013. The GIA-AAJ Party was also a great
success, as well as the showcase of the Koo-fu Collection 2013.
